Had lunch in my favourite hidden courtyard in the Financial District (Melinda St. and Yonge St.). A quiet refuge shared with a mama elephant and her two babies (Tembo, Mother of Elephants by Derrick Stephan Hudson, 2002).
The Financial District has so many secret courtyards that can’t be seen from main streets. They’re only known to the immediate building workers and short-cut seeking commuters.
I’ve learned that the best thing about Toronto is its wealth of secrets that can’t be searched for, but have to be stumbled upon.
